The 28 days Saribung Peak Climbing journey is a recently discovered but highly popular scenic climbing trek. The expedition covers several of the remote regions within the Himalayas, notably: Jomsom, Mustang “Hidden Valley”, Nar-Phu Valley and many other well-known landmarks of the Damodar Himal. It’s a fascinating hike amidst majestic mountain sceneries, diverse cultures, and many geographical variations. The Saribung Peak at (6,387m), lies close to the border of Nepal and Tibet and involves an itinerary full of trails that showcase spectacular scenery. Contrasting sections that are less strenuous with the challenge of crossing the high passes of Saribung La over 5,600 metres amongst others, makes for a well-rounded journey. In some sections, the trail even passes through off-the-beaten-tracks devoid of tourists and full of solitude. When we finally reach the summit of Mt. Saribung… it is simply spectacular. You will feel as if you are in the clouds. Overall, the panoramic mountain vistas form the top of Mt. Saribung, journeying through some new rugged landscapes, and encountering the traditional, untouched local culture of the region is truly unique and life-changing. The connections you make are some that you are unlikely to forget in a lifetime!
Although the climbing expeditions do not require you to be an athlete, you must be fit and healthy before embarking on the expedition. Training and equipment for technical elements are provided. To roughly assess your fitness level, see that you can easily walk about 8 km gaining a height of 600m/2,000ft with a 8 t0 10kg rucksack in about 2-1/2 hours or less. Note that you should be able to follow the regime for several consecutive days
