Trekking in Annapurna region will give you a feast of high mountains such as Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna 1 (8051m), Annapurna South (7219m) and the holy Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail) Peak. Not only will you enjoy the spectacular snow-capped Himalayan summits, but you will also be greeted with colour and sounds in the form of rhododendrons (Nepal’s national flower) and the 300 native bird species, Himalayan mountain goats, Langur and so on. It is possible to do a shorter 10 day version, however the 12 day trek allows you to also take in the amazing sunrise at Poon Hill…
Prior trekking experience is not necessary for taking part in an easy trek. Anyone who is fit and healthy enough to walk for 4-6 hours a day can manage moderate treks. These treks only involve lower altitude with daily ascents of around 300-600m on well-maintained paths and with easy access to local amenities.
